Bugger

Okay yesterday while accompanying a friend on their quest for a new job, I accidentally went to a couple of agencies with a mate of mine... and updated my details with them. I've been bored of doc control for a while and even with my move onto the closeout team its less stressful but no more interesting. I've been trying to get onto engineering or CAD courses on and off for the last couple of years... but bad timing and the courses being too populer has meant I've failed. However i've been on a forum for CAD geeks for a while due to my old job and kept up my socialising on there since as they became cyberfriends.

This morning due to discussions about cv's and about the career I want to follow (going offshore or into a more technical role ev Engineering Tech assist with the idea of becoming an engineer.)
I sent my cv to my friend in London to review and give me advice as he works in in a similar field as the interviewer and higherer. We discussed and amended my cv.

a few hours later I get an email "one of the directors just fired my senior document controller for doing his job!" I sypathised and described how some managment deserved sharp pointed lemon coated sticks poked into their eyes and after a little bit of banter he asked "know any good senior document controllers?" I jokingly reply "You are talking to the best!" ;-)

... the joke and banter have now escalated to a minimum of 3 year position with funding for an HNC/D in Engineering and other training a benefits package and a decent salary as staff as apposed to the Ltd Co I am at the moment, so no more paying insurance, doing my own tax, I'd get holiday pay and pension contributions... I'd also be in London... I can train in various martial arts, improve my burlesque skills and join a real roller derby team.... All dependant on an interview...

On the down side, more distance between me and Iain. I'd be far away from my best mates who are like family, I'd be far away from my sister and neice, Accomidation is expensive and it would be a major hassle organising my flat for renting... possibly having to evict my friend and resident of my flat for the last 6 years. Then there is all my stuff... Packing and moving is such a pain.

Everything I want and have done for the last 3 or 4 years... just in the wrong location... now the offer will come through on Monday... i don't have to seriously think about it till then, but its kinda hard not to.
