GMET - The Long-Awaited Conclusion

Oct 04, 2004 04:18

Wow. I spent much more time on this than I should have, but it did a bit to pick up my spirits. So yeah, not even Veronica has seen this part of it, since I just did it. So here it is--the end of the Greatest Movie Ever Told. Oh, and I had a great idea...does anyone who can draw wanna make a comic of this? That'd be so badass it wouldn't even be funny. I'd pay you lots and lots of money! *grin* Ah well. One can dream. Anyhoo, on with the show....

1. "Estremoz" E.S. Posthumous

At the opening of our final act, we see that Momo and Finlay have freed the captive Ruuk, Lindsay, Vee, Jess, Kim, and Rachel. There is a brief moment of hugging but then they notice Allen lying unconscious, barely alive and bleeding on the floor. Then alarms go off fiercely and the palace of the Floating Disembodied Head of Jeremy Irons begins to crumble around them. A chunk of ceiling smashes into the ground next to Rachel and Ruuk. The two women then grab Allen and carry him as the Party searches for a way out of the deathtrap.

2. "Rootbeer Rag" - Billy Joel

Luther has escaped the island of DHoJI and laughs fiercely as the island explodes from afar. He celebrates by having a drink in a nearby saloon.

3. "Half a Mile Away" - Billy Joel

Madly scrambling before the lair explodes, the Party finds the exit. They quickly hop on the boat Allen had taken to arrive there and set out to see before the island explodes, rocking their boat to its core. The immediate danger out of the way, they all then begin to recall the easier days of before, when Ruuk was in the FBI, Rachel was head of CDU, Momo and Lindsay were simple dancers/bartenders at Allen's bar, Jess and Kim were back in the orphanage, and Finlay was a runofthemill pickpocket. That other world is just half a mile away....

4. "No One Sleeps in Tokyo" - Initial D

Luther, comforted by his drink now, sets his master plan in motion. He pulls a small crystal from his pocket and hurls it into the air. Suddenly, balls of flame begin to rain down from the sky, setting the entire city of Tokyo ablaze. He watches his handiwork and moves along, enjoying the screams of the dying all around.

5. "Butterfly" - DDR

Lindsay agrees to remain on the boat with the unconscious Allen while the others go ashore at Tokyo. They are too late. The city has been reduced to rubble. They begin to comb the city, searching for survivors, asking anyone if they saw the samurai Luther who did this. Back on the boat, Lindsay tends to Allen, trying to wake him up. The main group is jumped by more of Luther's henchies whom they dispatch with ease.

6. "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" - Will Smith

Luther doubles back around the party searching for him and comes upon the boat where Lindsay tends to Allen. He draws his samurai blade and Lindsay asks him why he's doing all this. He sings a song about his past, illuminating his backstory.

7. "Seven Days" - Sting

continuing his sordid tale of how he became so evil, Luther tells Lindsay about how, once he moved out of Bel Air, he met a woman named Maria. They fell in love and she wanted to get married, but Luther wasn't ready at the time. He wanted to make sure he could make it as a singer before committing. Maria gave him a week to decide, but Luther didn't make his mind up in time and she left him. For DHoJI.

8. "Who Needs Sleep" - Barenaked Ladies

The Party is tired. They have been searching for hours and hours and no one remembers the last time they slept. Except Finlay, who had just gotten up that afternoon. He sings to them and tries to keep them moving, emphasising how imperative it is that they find Luther before he causes any more damage.

9. "This Night" - Billy Joel

Unbeknownst to Lindsay, the reason Luther has been talking so much was to weave his charismatic spell over her; the same one that kept Allen in the dark for so long. Now, with the moon full above their heads, she, spellbound, falls into Luther's arms. He snaps his fingers and suddenly she is in a flowing gown and he in a tuxedo. They slow dance to Luther's song and she falls further under his spell.

10. "Traffic Jam" - Weird Al

Vee gets a very bad feeling and feels the need to go immediately back to the ship. They steal a car, but unfortunatley get caught in massive cataclysm traffic from Luther's fire rain.

11. "Weekend in New England" - Barry Manilow

Allen, though in a coma, is in his own little world. Having an out of body experience, he looks upon Lindsay dancing with Luther and laments his inaction and how he has treated everyone in The Party since day one. He has forgotten what a leader should be like and desires to fix things, but can't get out of his coma.

The Party has reached a dead end. Resigned to the fact that they will never stop Luther, they take a break and go off in pairs, Vee with Momo, Ruuk with Finlay, Jess with Kim, and Rachel by herself. They all confess their mutual feelings for each other, and Rachel thinks about the French Deity of Rock, her one true love all along.

12. "We Didn't Start the Fire" - Billy Joel

Suddenly The Party is ambushed by furious citizens of Tokyo. They blame The Party for the devastation to which the Party replies that they 'didn't start the fire'. They are quickly surrounded, but on 'rock and roller cola wars' they combine their powers into a blast of energy that allows them to escape!!

13. "Sparks in the Dark" - Initial D

The Party has come upon the ship!! They draw their weapons and demand that Luther release Lindsay. Luther quickly puts his blade to her throat and threatens to kill her if they come any closer. While the Party decides what to do, Luther hurls Lindsay overboard and steals their ship!! Momo leaps in to save her since she can't swim and Rachel and Ruuk quickly use their training to hotwire a speedboat in the harbor and give chase to Luther!!

14. "Take My Soul" - Initial D

The Party successfully rescues Lindsay and they are off! They ride their speedboat beside Luther's slower vessel and try to board, but Luther discards his sword in favor of an Uzi. He opens fire, aiming at Vee, but Rachel leaps into the way, taking the bullet and falling overboard, but not before getting off her own shot with her pistol. The bullet takes Luther in the shoulder and his ship swerves out of control. In the water, Rachel demands that they give pursuit instead of help her, that she is too far gone, they have too much to live for. Through tears, the Party acquiesces, leaving Rachel to her watery grave.....*cries*

15. "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" - Billy Joel

As Luther's boat careens into the shore of a random island, the Party quickly docks and leaps ashore, surrounding Luther. As Vandross cradles his wounded arm, the Party, furiously, begins to taunt him, asking each other if each method of torture would be enough for him. They advance.

16. "New York State of Mind" - Billy Joel

They slice Luther to pieces. Finlay loots the body, and steals his sword. Jess and Kim hack his limbs off and cast them into the sea. Vee shoots him right in the head. Momo kicks him in the balls while Lindsay stops on his throat. As the weight of their task finally sinks in, they all collapse on the beach. Lindsay gets Allens' unconscious body from the wreckage and brings it ashore. They all debate on where they think they'll go from there, and someone suggest New York AKA Wishful Thinking. A song between all of them ensues.

17. "Beat of the Rising Sun" - Area99

They lay on the beach in each others' arms. And then the sun comes up. While looting Luther's body, Finlay failed his search roll and failed to find the gem Luther had used to call down the fire. When the first rays of the sunlight strike the gem it spins into action, flying into the air with Luther's cackle and embeds itself in the unconscious Allen's chest. Allen's body jerks into motion wearing Luther's sneer as he decks Lindsay in the face, knocking her to the ground. He raises his arms to the sky and begins to collect power from the sun.

18. "Nineveh" - E.S. Posthumous

The fight breaks out as Allen/Luther collects his energy. Vee fires a round into his chest, but it bounces off harmlessly. Jess and Kim both lunge at him with their ninja blades, but they are too late. Allen drops his hand and grasps Kim by the throat, lifting her high into the air. With an evil laugh, Allen squeezes and the gem glows brightly. Kim's face bursts into flames and Allen drops her lifeless body to the beach. He turns to where Lindsay is crumpled and prepares to launch a bolt of flame, but Ruuk fires three rounds into the gem, which cracks upon impact. Snarling, Allen turns and blasts Ruuk with a gout of flame. Ablaze, she drops to the ground to put them out.

19. "Oh What a Night" - Billy Joel

Using everything she knows from any movie, Vee tries to call out to Allen deep within his body, hoping to save the rest of them. She reminds him of the very first night when they met, way back in Detective school. How he and Ruuk were together at the time and V was with his brother and they all went on the double date. He 'gum-gum rocketed' the table after the dance and spilt water all over her and laughed and laughed. She reminds him of when he first met Momo and Lindsay, the beautiful dancers at his bar, how happy he was to have pretty girls surrounding him and how they made him karaoke to j-pop songs he didn't understand. For a second, Luther's harsh face contorts and Allen's frightened coutenance returns....

20. "Burning Up For You" - Initial D

Jess, distraught over the death of Kim, doesn't wait to see if Vee's ploy takes effect. She launches herself at Allen and immediately the scowl of Luther returns. From the cracked gem in his chest, flames burst forth and envelope Jess. But she does not fall; her desire for vengeance for Rachel and Kim burns too bright and she hacks away at Allen with her blade. Vee cries out for her not to, the blows will surely kill Allen inside, but she does not listen. The Party can just stand back and watch. Finally, though Allen/Luther is now severely injured and dripping with blood, Jess falls into a pile of ash.

21. "Robo's Theme" - Chrono Trigger

Tired of the senseless deaths and tired of this whole mission, Vee shoots the gaze of death at Allen/Luther. Sensing her resolve, Lindsay, Momo, Ruuk, and Finlay stand beside her and prepare for one final onslaught, whethter they live or die, this will be their last stand.

22. "Love is in Danger" - Initial D

The onslaught begins. Vee tells Allen that she doesn't want to hurt him but this has to stop now. She dodge a gout of flame and puts another bullet into the gem. Lindsay and Momo enact their team attack and whirlwind around Allen. Though he tries to blast them with fire, they are too quick for him. With a roar, he takes to the air, hurling balls of fire down on them. Momo is caught by one and hurled into the sea. Vee, on instinct, abandons her attack and goes after her. Ruuk strikes a Sailor Moon pose and takes to the air as well, suddenly garbed in a Sailor Suit. Her gun has become a staff of light and her and Allen go at it Dragonball Z style. Finlay uses his Gold Rain attack, striking Allen with thousands of pieces of gold for 600 damage.

23. "1000 Words" - FFX-2

Clouds gather overhead and rain begins to fall. As Ruuk and Allen continue their battle of light and fire above, Vee rescues Momo, now unconscious, from the sea and begins to sing to her, begging her not to die on her. Her tears fall upon her love. Lindsay with her burning desire to help raises her Luffy voice to the song. Lightning flashes all around and Ruuk lands a mighty blow on Allen. He tumbles back but comes in with a towering sword of flame. He slams the butt of it into her and she goes hurtling back to earth. As he raises his blade to the sky to call out the final attack, Ruuk and Finlay join in the song. Allen's face twitches and contorts into a portrait of rage. The gem begins to glow bright and he roars in fury. A blue-white bolt of lightning arcs down from the sky and strikes the gem, whcih explodes into millions of tiny motes so bright it blinds everyone temporarily.

24. "Amazing Kiss" - BoA

Allen's body tumbles to the ground, gem-free. He is dying, clearly. Momo too. Ruuk as well. The injuries threaten to overcome them, but Lindsay, Vee, and Finlay, desperate to have their loves revived, lay their kisses upon them...

25. "Could it Be Magic" - Barry Manilow

Allen and Momo briefly open their eyes, gazing up at Lindsay and Vee. Allen smiles at her, and apologizes quietly for all the trouble he's caused. He again confesses his feelings, and apologizes once again for everything. She tells him to shut up and live already, but his eyes flutter closed. His body slumps lifelessly. Vee through a river of tears begs Momo to come back to her, that she wants to spend her life with her, that if she'd just live, everything would be okay. Finlay promises a still unconscious Ruuk that he'd even spend money if she'd just come back to him....

26. "Miles Away" - Verve Pipe

Momo doesn't pull through. Ruuk, however, does. Still, Finlay does not feel right rejoicing in such a sad time. The rain stops and the sun again comes back out. Vee is wracked with sobs, cradling Momo's body, while Lindsay stares down at Allen in silent grief. Ruuk and Finlay embrace wordlessly. Saying nothing, Ruuk and Finlay prepare the ship for the return trip home, giving the other two time alone. Finally, they announce quietly that it's time. They wrap the bodies in Pokemon blankets and carry them aboard the ship, headed for home on Wishful Thinking.

27. "She's Always a Woman to Me" - Billy Joel

It is a year later. Vee stands alone in her apartment--Allen's old one. It is raining outside and she gazes out the window at the rain. Things have reverted to normal--they've reopened the Road Trippin' Nigga Bitchaz, though now the four of them run it. Lindsay comes in and puts her hand on Vee's shoulder and tells her that it's time.

28. "The Freshmen" - Verve Pipe

All dressed in black, Vee, Lindsay, Ruuk and Finlay (now married) carry bouquets of flowers through the rain to a cemetary nearby. All four are crying as we see the headstones of Jess, Kim, Rachel, Maully, Allen, and Momo. In turn they each say their silent respects to the graves, lay down the flowers and walk away solemnly.

29. "Even Now" - Barry Manliow

Back at the ranch, Fin and Ruuk try and console Lindsay and Vee. Even now, a year later, their hearts still ache. Giving up reluctantly, Ruuk and Fin go up to their rooms. Lindsay and Vee hold each other in comfort for a moment when a knock sounds on the door.

30. "I'm Your Man" - Barry Manilow

Lindsay opens the door to see a figure standing there in a beat up gray fedora, grey trenchcoat, and cigarette in his mouth. It is Allen, grinning like the fop he is. Both Vee and Lindsay are stunned into silence as Allen burst into song, taking Lindsay into his arms and kissing her. Still grinning like a fool, he leaps atop a table and does a little dance too much booty in the pants. Ruuk and Finlay come down to see what's going on and squee with delight, glomping Allen. Hugs all around.

31. "This One's For You" - Barry Manilow (damn there's a lot of manliow on my comp...)

Vee, in the chaos of the revelry, goes outside into the rain, singing to the stars. Wishing for Momo to return like Allen did...

32. "Miami 2017" - Billy Joel

Allen and the others come out to comfort Vee. Allen has a strange grin on his face. He points into the distance where a small light winks on and off. Suddenly, from the distant darkness come running Maully, Jess, Kim, Rachel, and Momo!!!!!! Everyone is crying with joy, while Allen sings again. Out in the rain the rejoicing continues as everyone hugs everyone else, thrilled to finally be reunited. Then the spotlight turns to Allen and they demand him tell them how the hell all this happened.

33. "I Made it Through the Rain" - Barry Manilow

Sadly, Allen begins to tell them about how, when Kiefer had returned to them, the two of them had devised a scheme. Kiefer would sacrifice his own life to the gods in order to have Life 3 cast on all of them. Kiefer wouldn't have anyone knowing in case they tried to stop him, so they had arranged for it to look like Allen killed him out of rage. They all share a moment of sadness for Kiefer's sacrifice, then go back inside.

34. "Lullabye" - Billy Joel

Up in their rooms, Allen, Vee, and Finlay sing their respective partners to sleep.

35. "Never is Enough" - Barenaked Ladies

Five years later. The detective agency has been turned into a bar/hotel called NPC Manor. Everyone bustles around helping customers. Business is booming and funds are rolling in. Finlay sits in a corner counting money and keeping the books. Maully is the perfect host, keeping the ladies entertained and flitting from guest to guest, renting boats to them. Jess and Kim wait the tables with ninja skillz while Momo and Lindsay dance onstage. Rachel tends bar. Ruuk runs the lights and sound. Allen and Vee sit quietly in the back of the room, when suddenly a stranger approaches them. He tells them that a boat has exploded off the coast of Wichita, Kansas and that it needs investigating. Vee and Allen break into song, letting him know that now, with their wives and kids and business, their detecting days are over. Accepting this, the stranger leaves, and Vee and Allen share a laugh.

EXEUNT!!!!!

(What, you didn't think I'd let it end on that horridly depressing note, did you? Ha! Bastards. *grin*)
