To make the story very short. I was loaning filkertom my van but that's not going to work, the rental backup plan didn't work and at this point it appears we're driving to Michigan tomorrow after a brief stopoff in Delaware, Oh to grab his possessions from the dead transportation unit. I will then drive back to Columbus and somewhere in the middle of that I need another oil change (for van really, not me) and a small repair to the drivers side window controls.
I'm very very glad I will have my Harry Potter audio books to keep me company on the return trip :) The good news is the lovely company on the way to Michigan and a lot of face time with our friend.
