OK plans for Australia 2009 emerge
Looking at May 2009 - coming out of Summer into Fall weather should be cooler and not have hit the rainy yet. (all theories are meant to be disproved)
Looking at a 3 city stopover with the interruptions, flight if we can do the LA to ?? for $1,299 they are now waving around. This is WITH the D!!
Fly LA to Adelaide (filk con in California no bad thing) say Hi to Barrie Davis
grab Ghan Railway. sleeper + food. Pricey but it does cover a lot of ground and about 8 days.
Get off in Coober Pedy cause....
Get back on, go to Alice, get off to stare at Ularoo etc...
Get back on, go to Darwin. Do Northern park and touri things
Get on plane -- fly to Brisbane. We've got 2 choices for accomodation already. would rent a car and perhaps check out the islands and my fav Brisbane folks.
Get on plane after a week and go to ...? D would be interested in Tasmania, I'd love to stop off in Melbourne and show him Belgrave.
We've got 3 weeks of him off work (unless his company would like him to do some stuff while he is over there)
I'd probably stay and spend another month doing folk stuff. they do have House concerts on list! As long as I was back in Victoria, BC by the last weekend in June for Pondfilk.
Anyway -- that's the first draught of plan. Do feel free to rip to shreds and suggest...
