While living in Spain I had an outbreak
of the canker sores. My downstairs neighbor,
Maria Carmen, a Spaniard and a resident
in Opthalmology, told me to get a steptic
(I think that's how you spell it) pencil
and apply it (that's what guys use to stop
bleeding from shaving nics). Boy, did it
work. Burns like the dickens but cauterizes
and you are able to eat and drink better.
I was so grateful to her.

Stiptic pencil?
That would really sting! You're braver than I am, Annie. I can barely stand the pain when I eat.

Maybe I should try it though I do have a rinse the dentist prescribed that numbs the pain a bit.

I hope you're well, Annie.
(((hugs))) and blessed 2011!

Interesting about the grapes. But I think it can be difficult to eat one grape for each chime of the clock.

I put up my GRAPE Hyacinth icon in this comment ;)

It is difficult and mostly you end up with a mouth full of grapes.
:D
It's fun and a really old tradition in Spain.
Funny to see your grape hyacinth in winter.

Nice tradition, I'm not sure I could eat just one grape per hour, I'd probably gobble up the lot in one go, lol.

Not one grape per hour! One grape per each chime of the clock just before midnight when the New Year is rung in!
:)
In other words you're stuffing your mouth with grapes in the seconds before midnight.
:D

Oh, I see, LOL. Doesn't that make it rather hard to do the New year kissing? ;-)
