By way of the
Human Rights Campaign, and following
justhuman's example:
Did you know that in 31 states in the United States it's still legal to fire someone because they're gay?
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is a federal bill that would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire, or refuse to promote employees simply based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
If you're a US resident and think that would be a good thing, please take action today. EDNA is going up for a vote in the House on Monday and the religious right is mobilized to oppose it.
Go to the
HRC EDNA Action Page to send a message to your representative. It's easy. Promise. [Or if you'd like to contact your Representative directly, go to
House.gov and type in your zip-code in the upper left corner. It will take you to your Rep's page and there should be a Contact link.]
