Pre-Amsterdam last-minute scramble

Sep 13, 2006 09:13

For the last couple of weeks, I've been working overtime to get ready to be away for two weeks (back late Monday, Sept. 25). Now we're in the usual last-minute scramble. H is already ready ::hrmph::. I, of course, am not. He is surfing the net, and distracting me with stuff like this (but OMG, so funny!).

But hey, we've got plenty of time -- we leave for the airport in six hours. I just checked the list of what's permitted/not permitted on carry-on luggage (cool; my eye drops, lip balm, camera, and PDA are OK).

I've been reading tons of stuff about the Netherlands. Half our time we'll be in Amsterdam, the rest in Haarlem, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Delft, and possibly Marken or Volendam (where they still wear traditional costumes; hey, I know it's a tourist trap, but it'll be charming, I hope). This is gonna be so cool! The Netherlands has everything we like in a vacation: history, architecture, the arts, nice climate, water and boats, funky culture, and good food.

::bouncebouncebounce::
Can you tell I'm excited?

Off to finish packing...
