The snow isn't the problem, it's the other drivers!

We got about a foot of snow today. I couldn't leave work early because I had to finish a project today, since I'm on vacation next week and it can't wait until I get back. At 2:00 pm, it was near-whiteout conditions. The snow was blowing sideways! By 3:00, it was winding down. At 3:45 the sky cleared enough to let the sun peek through. It's an omen, I thought; let's high-tail it outta here!

Unfortunately, so did everyone else. It took me an hour to travel the eight miles between my office and my house; the last mile took more than 15 minutes! Being an experienced New Englander, I have the sense to leave maneuvering room between my car and the one in front of me; some drivers take that as an opportunity to cut in front of me. ::grumble:: And I'm PMSing. ::grumble:: And there's no booze in the house. ::grumble::

OK, deep cleansing breath. I'm on vacation. Yay?
