Ado Annie in a wheelchair
I'm about to watch the Tony Awards, which I've been doing every year for decades (anyone else watching? ::looks at
dragonydreams::), and was reading the predictions.
Somehow it escaped my notice that the actress playing Ado Annie in the current Broadway revival of Oklahoma! is Ali Stroker, who uses a wheelchair.
Here's a great interview in which she talks about the challenges of playing Ado Annie, a frankly promiscuous character, in a wheelchair.
Watch her sing the hell out of "I Cain't Say No"
She has a good chance to win the Tony; I'm rooting for her!
