a few things i guess...
1. the morrissey show came and went, not without drama but that was to be expected. nothing much to speak of herethough. i am happy to report that i did order a hamburger and it was good.
2. friday night, jack + i went to a wedding. it was for our friends chris + michele. michele is a belly dancer and when they were introduced for the first time as mr. & mrs. at the reception - the head of her belly dancing troupe came out with a freaking huge candelabra on her head! it must have had 20 lit candles on it. she "presented" them to the crowd and it was super cool and fun.
3. the reception was fun. of course, we got sat at what can only be called "the trouble-maker table" ... the hells angels, hardcore band members, and other assorted gang members - you know, our closest friends. lots of 5th grade jokes. i actually have a picture in my camera of two butter balls and an asparagus stalk put together to look like a penis. needless to say, we weren't sat anywhere near the families.
4. my mom came in to the city on saturday and we went shopping for a sleeper sofa. oh gosh, you guys - i got the nicest sleeper ever. we went to loads of fancy places in soho and around the city. i was exhausted and unhappy with what we had seen so far - and don't you know, we went to jennifer convertibles of all places and i got a really nice one with a mattress upgrade! it's very neat looking, not huge and bulky, and it has legs! you would never know it was a sleeper. i am very happy, but have to wait 8 weeks for delivery. ah well - we can sleep on the floor a bit longer. i feel like it's my first "real" piece of furniture. and by that, i mean that it's not from ikea.
5. dinner last night was amazing! we ate at rosa mexicano in union square. we had the guacamole they make right at your table. i ordered an amazing seafood stew for dinner, which is not on their online menu. wow was it good! then we had to have dessert! the mexican cinnamon donuts (churros en una bolsas) with dipping sauces for me. i was so so full afterwards - but i love that restaurant. oh! and yes! my mom and i both had the frozen pomegranate margaritas! yum!
6. bed now. working early shift tomorrow. i have to find a spot on the mattress along with the two dogs, the husband, and the bunny.
