The world works in mysterious ways. Last night my roomate from Trumpet called me. Jessie said that a girl had just quit, and they needed someone to fill her spot at the theatre she's working at. Jessie works at the Old Creamery Theatre Company in... of all places... Iowa. Last night at... oh... midnight her casting director calls me and offers me the job. I was at a party. There are few places quite as awkward to get a business call than while you're at a party. I hope it didn't sound too unprofessional. Then today I accepted the contract.

I'm moving to Iowa at the end of the week, and my contract starts on Monday. That is insane.

Send out those Christmas cards, y'all! Jessie just got me a job, the wonderful woman that she is!

Hey, at least I don't have another job in Ohio, right? Hehe.

I'll be a part of their traveling children's series. I'll also do tech work on my off-weeks, for more money. :) My contract ends November 11th, but they said that if they decide they need me, I could be hired on for "Christmas Carol" in December as well.

This is why I love the theatre. It's so unpredictable, and I never know where I'm going to be from one month to the next. It's why I love it, and it's what causes stress too, lol.

This sure takes some stress off of SETC.. which is tomorrow. Looking at the companies who are hiring, I'm not sure how likely any of them are to hire me. I'm not strong enough in musical theatre. I'm breathing a little easier, knowing I have some sort of income for the next few months at least. Income that doesn't include a desk job. :)
