The Rococo style is characterized by pastel colors, gracefully delicate curving forms, fanciful figures, and a lighthearted mood.
Rosalba Carriera was a Venetian rococo painter and one of few women to make a successful career as an artist in the 18th century. Her portraits are delicate in color and vivacious. She is well represented in most of the European galleries.
