Chili! :) And other assorted miscellany...

Okay...so we had a Food Day at work and I brought in chili. :) I was fairly well pleased with the way this batch turned out, and the people here descended upon it like a school of pirahna in a feeding frenzy. I'm VERY pleased with that reaction.

A couple of people said it was spicy; I didn't think it was terribly spicy, but then my scale is a bit off since I could brush my teeth with wasabi paste were I so minded. And I once ate a raw habanero pepper. But that's a story of 'Mark Getting Duped in a Dare and Proving Himself a Moron'. ^____^

I think I'm settling on a 'preferred' mix for it, though I'm heavily thinking about adding some Molasses to the mix to add a bit more complexity to it.

Other than that not too much going on. Been playing a lot of Neverwinter Nights again. Highly entertaining. :) I've been playing a Sorcerer/Fighter/Dragon Disciple. Let me just say that being immune to fire is a fun fine thing. SO many traps are fire based! Unfortunately the game doesn't allow you to pick what color dragon, all dragon disciples are Red...but that's fine with me. Currently at Sorcerer 6/Fighter 4/Red Dragon Disciple 10 and it is a lot of fun, played the same girl from the core game, through the first expansion (Shadows of Undrentide), and am now in Hordes of the Underdark. It is very irritating that you lose all your gear in Hordes, but at least you keep your gold so can re-equip fairly easily, though I had some fairly tasty gear with the original stuff.

For those not familiar with the game it is a CRPG based in the Forgotten Realms and using a slightly modified version of D&D 3.0. It has its quirks of course, for example the XP is less than a tenth of what you'd get in tabletop gaming, but then again you fight a lot more critters so it sort of balances out. In the core game you can have a single henchman, and they provide a fairly nice mix of people, but I've been playing Solo so far. In Hordes you gain the ability to have two henchman, which can come in fairly handy. So far I'm just using one - Deekin the Kobold Bard/Dragon Disciple. :) He's funny, useful, versatile, and not nearly as suicidal as the others. In short he's the best NPC in my quite biased opinion. :) Though I'm toying with getting rid of him so I can try to beat the game solo.

Which is /not/ easy. They weren't kidding when they called it 'HORDES' of the Underdark, they like to toss opposition at you by the swarm. :)

That's about it. :)
