[There is nothing but the sound of footsteps on a tile floor, then silence for a few seconds. The man who speaks does so in a low, hissing voice, obviously angry.]
Man: Have you completely lost your mind?!
[Simon, meanwhile, sounds defiant.]
Simon: Pretty nearly.
Man: We got the wave at the Friedlichs'; I had to leave your mother at the dinner table!
[Simon's voice becomes thick with sarcasm.]
Simon: I'm sorry, Dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk!
Simon's Dad: Don't you dare be flippant with me! I just spent 2,000 credits to get you out of here and I had to walk through that door, which goes on my permanent profile! [A pause.] Are you trying to destroy this family?
Simon: I didn't realize it would be so easy. [Another pause.] Dad, I- I didn't do anything!
Simon's Dad: You were in a blackout zone!
Simon: TALKING. To someone who might be able to help River! And I'm going right back there.
Simon's Dad: Chufei wo si le! This is a slippery slope, young man; you have no idea how far down you can go and you're not taking us with you!

Simon's Dad: I won't come for you again. You end up here... or get mixed up in something worse... you're on your own. I will not come for you. Now... are you coming home?
