I fell asleep watching the Super Bowl last night.
It is not the first time that has happened, I don't think I ever have managed to watch an entire Amro-Footie game on the TV in a conscious state, and I don't think it is just that it is showed at night because I certainly can watch crappy movies or Serie A late broadcasts. I guess it is the choppiness, all those breaks. Like if a regular football game just was free kicks and corners. But usually I hang around long enough to be able to laugh at the half-time show. Last night I didn't get that far.
Anyway, I woke up with about five minutes left of the game so I saw how it ended, including how one of the tiresome commentators who probably should cut down on his statistics intake (why do some sports people develop such an extreme obsession with statistics? Is it more common in some sports? Is it some sort of mental condition? Some sort of autist-savant thing?) said something about World Champions (I didn't know the Super Bowl had that status, maybe it is like that World Series), and who won wasn't something I cared much about anyway. But I'll admit it was rather interesting the last minutes when the ovoid thing actually was in play.
Still, I really wish TV could show the African championships in football instead. Drogba & gang scored five times yesterday!
