Master Post: Tennessee Waltz

Jun 23, 2011 18:54

So this is my first (completed) fic, and it's over 23K. No, seriously. No, I don't know how that happened either. I'm glad it did, though.

Title: Tennessee Waltz
Author: Kalliste
Pairing: Brad/Nate
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 23,176
Summary: “I feel you should be aware, sir, that I fucking hate country music.”

Disclaimer: This story is a work of fiction, based on the fictionalized characters in the HBO miniseries Generation Kill, as written by Ed Burns and David Simon and as portrayed by Alexander Skårsgard, Stark Sands, and others. No reflection on the real people bearing these names is implied. No profit is being made and no harm is intended.

Notes/Warnings: This was begun as a fill for a prompt at the Generation Kill Anonymous Kink Meme on combat_jack, and quickly got entirely out of hand with, like, plot and character development and stuff. The original prompt is here, but I recommend you don’t read it until after if you don’t want any spoilers.

Similarly, the warnings may spoil you as well, so only highlight to read them if you don’t mind that. In addition to the usual filthy language and utter lack of political correctness typical of GK fic, this story contains: graphic depictions of violence, minor character death, depression, self-medication, PTSD, hurt/comfort, and angst. There are also blatant references to country music. You Have Been Warned.

This story can also be read here at AO3.

Unbetaed, therefore all mistakes are my own. See the end for more notes.

Enjoy!
