I am trying to plan for tomorrow, where I am leading two Year 4 classes in a creative curriculum "textiles and dying". I get the help of another LSA, but I didn't even know who I was working with until school ended today. :P
So. Curriculum suggestion given to be by a teacher is wax resist on paper with watercolour, which will lead naturally into batik. My bright idea is
felt balls/beads which will then be dyed using food colouring. Crazy? Maybe. I hope it's not too wet. I hope it works!
The current plan is to have 100 or so grams of roving for each class to use (white Merino) and Lots of tea trays for them to work over, and for some people to hopefully choose
felting squares in a baggie instead.
Meep.
