what a great time to be a gay jew!

A national survey of Conservative Jews has found a majority support a ruling last month that permits the ordination of gay rabbis and blessing ceremonies for same-sex couples. The survey found that rabbis across the country support the move to ordain gay rabbis by a two-to-one margin and the spread was greater among lay leaders where nearly 70 percent support gay rabbis.

In December the Committee on Jewish Law and Standards, which interprets religious law for Conservative Judaism, decided to permit the ordination of openly gay rabbis and allow congregations to hold commitment ceremonies for same-sex couples, but at the same time upheld the traditional belief that homosexuality is wrong.
