It was odd they heard your facial expression, so interwoven and combined with those 2-piece-suits you often wear. So I sighed and made a very satirical comment, we all giggled.
The sun set in La Jolla tonight, my phone rang boisteriously while I pretended to ignore it until I no longer could. Father and mother and brother are upset.
"You shouldn't steal passports, that's against the law" they said.

I had fun, I'll just sit and say "yes, yes, yes I know" while they lecture. The concern here lies with my brother who's more than willing to break my nose because of this. I guess he has good reason to. Losing passports isn't exactly a "let's go get a new one" type ordeal. My options are really limited, I can fight the beast back or take it and pretend like I've just discovered a new fetish for incestual s&m.

I still have my alcohol, I still have my cigarettes, my coffee and my sunsets.

Sunsets are free, so that's nice.

I do believe this is my rite of passage into a troubled emo 20-something.

The irony of it all, is I've been summoned as an upstanding citizen to perform my duty as a juror tomorrow morning. Don't believe for one second I'm not going to play devil's advocate and be the enigma amongst the group. They will hate me for it but I will be the one they talk about at the dinner table that night.
