In fairness...

...I've realized that there are a few nice things about monophasic sleep.

1. One doesn't have to find tasks enough to fill 21+ hours of the day.
2. Most of one's friends that live in the same physical and temporal location tend to be awake when you are.
3. One can enjoy their sleepy philosophical ponderings while lying in bed-- 15 minutes of daydreaming out of your sleep won't incapacitate you if you're asleep for eight hours.

Not that I've been getting eight hours of sleep, of course. Most weekdays I manage to get seven, weekends a few hour more. I notice a lot more that I wake up at ninety-minute internvals, and a twenty-minute nap is just enough to recharge my brain.

But still. I miss the USS. I want those extra hours, I want to be able to see four in the morning again. Since it's my third year doing National Novel Writing Month, I want to squeeze extra time out of anything. Eight hours-- or seven, or six and a half-- seems wasteful.

At least I'm remembering my dreams again.

I have around ten days off at the end of the year, for Christmas and New Years. Most people would relax and enjoy their holidays. Me, I'm going to use it to go back on the Uberman. I know, ten days isn't enough. I don't care. I'll be sleepy and weird during school, I'll sleep during my study hall, but I will make it work.
