My big girl...

Today was Claire's first day in big school - she started in the toddler room at Alex's daycare.

Going to make life much easier - only one morning dropoff for me, and it's cheaper! Yippee!

It was quite a scene - I knew there was trouble when I pulled up in front of the daycare, and there were 5 cars out front - there are never that many parents dropping off when I get there. Walk in, and I can hear the screaming from the front foyer.

Seems there were a couple other new kids, and they were screaming bloody murder. This set off a couple of the regulars, and the one little girl that always cries was in the chorus, too. Picture a half-dozen screaming toddlers, either stuffed into snowsuits, or being stuffed into them.

Claire looked at them as if to say "What the hell is wrong with you people?"

I waded through the screamers, and set her down in the toddler area - asked Alex to keep her company, and went back out to the car to get the mountain of supplies it takes to keep two kids going. When I got back, she was smiling, playing with Alex, and looked up at me as if to say "Are you still here?"

Of course, we have been bringing her into the daycare when we drop off and pick up Alex for a while, so I think she'll feel right at home. Now, the bit about only one nap, and no bottles - we'll see how that pans out.

My little girl is growing up... I think I need a tissue...
