I imagine this song playing right before Will closes the final window between his world and Lyra's.

So hard she's trying/ But her heart won't turn to stone... oh no/ She keeps on crying/ But I won't leave her alone/ She'll never be alone.
This song describes Lyra's feelings towards Will. No matter how hard she tries to move on and get over him, it'll never happen. =)
4. Yesterday by The Beatles.
Suddenly / I'm not half the man I used to be/ There's a shadow hanging over me/ Oh, yesterday came suddenly/ Why she/ Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say/ I said/ Something wrong, now I long for yesterday/ Yesterday/ Love was such an easy game to play/ Now I need a place to hide away/ Oh, I believe in yesterday.
This one clearly describes the feelings the pair was undergoing leading up to their seperation. The day before the found out that they had to be parted forever, they were enjoying spending time with each other without any added stress or distractions. This song also reflects the nostalgia both experienced after the closing of the final window.
5. Our Farewell by Within Temptation.
Never thought/ This day would come so soon/ We had no time to say goodbye/ How can the world just carry on?/ I feel so lost when you are not by my side/ But there's nothing but silence now/ Around the one I loved/ Is this our farewell?
An obvious song choice. Need I explain this one? Thought not.
6. Kiss Me Goodbye by Angela Aki.
Kiss me goodbye, love's mystery/ All of my life I'll hold you close to me/ Don't shed a tear for love's mortality/ For you put the dream in my reality.
"All of my life I'll hold you close to me". Clearly describes the way each will continue living their lives.
7. Cold (But I'm Still Here) by Evans Blue.
Cold, you broke me from the very first night/ I'd love you 'til the day that I die.
An iffy song choice, but this one line called out to me. Obviously, the pair will love each other 'til the day that they die.
8. Darkness by Disturbed.
Don't turn away/ I pray you've heard/ The words I've spoken/ Dare to believe/ Over one last time/ Then I'll let the/ Darkness cover me/ Deny everything/ Slowly walk away/ To breathe again/ On my own.
Describes the feeling of loss each much endure upon closing the window. Perhaps the darkness represents the new lives they must lead apart?
9. Memories by Within Temptation.
In this world you tried/ Not leaving me alone behind/ There's no other way/ I'll pray to the gods let him stay/ The memories ease the pain inside/ Now I know why/ All of my memories keep you near/ In silent moments/ Imagine you'd be here/ All of my memories keep you near/ Your silent whispers, silent tears/ Made me promise I'd try/ To find my way back in this life/ I hope there is a way/ To give me a sign you're okay/ Reminds me again it's worth it all.
Another obvious song choice that I do not feel the need to explain. Possibly a Will/Lyra anthem, yes?
10. The Memory Will Never Die by Default.
You stop and close your eyes/ You can't deny what lives inside you/ Well I know it's hard to see/ What is meant to be/ When yesterday is so far behind you/ Deep inside your soul/ know I'm always there/ You made me believe the day you surrender to me/ The memory will never die/ The love that you gave/ I'll never throw it away/ The memory will never die.
A final, very appropriate, song choice. Perhaps another Will/Lyra anthem because it sums up the pair PERFECTLY.
