Zevon, Don't let us get sick. Played acoustic for someone you're flirting with- or wanting to grow old with you if you feel that way about each other.
And yeah, there's an irony in the lyrics of that song and growing old together. Warren Zevon was a master of irony. Vocals? You're young enough that it's likely you've not nuked your voice like I have from smoking/screaming/living stupidly. Have you ever worked with a good vocal coach? A voice is like any instrument for music, having someone else coach us is never a bad idea. If I'd listened to that advice when I was your age, I'd be sounding closer to David Crosby as opposed to Tom Waits.. Not that there's anything bad about his voice or mine:>
Music that syncs with our mood and vocal ranges- or exploits the difference between "us" and the original artist. You singing NIN- Hurt?
If it's for a lover- or yourself- or just looking for something that might get you some money busking somewhere?
Setting up with your 12 string and a well trained or just self-confident..voice can make a few bucks more than many less pleasant self-employments. It's an ego boost beyond compare to see strangers tossing bills/coins into your axe case.. James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot Joni Mitchell, Grace Slick..early acoustic stuff of theirs or whatever "works" for you
All of those have in common several details that just "work" for both romantic and money. What range does your voice normally settle into? Means- when you're in the zone- feeling good about everything and it's that effortless joy of singing for yourself more than anyone else.
I think I'm in the soprano-alto range. First I want to learn music just for the mere sake of doing it because I love it and it's my favourite thing ever. i do like singing hurt in a pretty high voice, at least I think it's not so bad. i want to play music for me first.
