I have come to the conclusion that the solution to global climate change is politically impossible.
The developed world has grown wealthy by (in part) burning a lot of fossil fuels.
The developing world is (quite reasonably) peeved that now that they are starting down the same road, they are being told not to use the (very efficient) tools that the developed world used. They won't sit still for it.
The only way I can see would be for the already-rich nations to pay for both their own conversion to cleaner energy and for the poorer nations' conversion as well.
That's not politically possible.
We're all going to fry.
