Most of you I'm sure are familiar with
The Mosquito at least in principle. It was all the buzz (heh) when it was first invented and deployed in the UK a few years ago.
Anyway, I drive up and down Western Ave a lot. And on Western there is a women's health center that provides abortions. Which not surprisingly attracts intermittent crowds of undesirables. Whenever the center is open and the weather is nice (apparently babies are only worth saving when it's not too cold out or raining) there will be a crowd of ne'er-do-wells with placards, browbeating anyone going into or out of the center.
And I got to thinking.
I wonder if there is something similar to The Mosquito that the center could be using. It would have to be audible to all ages. It would have to be tolerable for a little while (long enough not to drive away the clients or the people just walking past), but so annoying as to discourage loitering longer than about 10 minutes.
