A few random updates

  • The 87's tire has been replaced. There were two dents in the rim; not sure if the flat was caused by one of these or if the tire actually blew. But in any case the dents have been straightened out and the tire replaced, so all's well.
  • The 85 has an alarm and power locks; it locks itself when I walk away from it. I need to work much harder at remembering to lock the 87.
  • The construction project that is blocking Lake Street for half a block just East of Wesley which started in May was supposed to be finished by late November, but all work stopped in mid-September and nothing has been done since. Just a whacking great hole (24' by 36') in the street and a detour. According to the project manager -- to whom I just spoke -- there was a problem with the design, it has recently been resolved, and things should be moving again on the project as a whole very very soon. But they won't get back to work at the Wesley site for at least 6 more weeks. On the one hand, blocking Lake Street like that has really cut down on traffic past my house. On the other hand, it makes navigating the neighborhood more of a pain. These two hands may be washing each other.
