X-Men Movieverse
Marie/Logan-8 Recs

Not Like This by chickpea--This is a great apocalypse AU story with the kind of smart and sophisticated yet vulnerable Rogue that I find intriguing. There's some angst, but a great conclusion. There is a ridiculous lack of feedback for this story which I think is just nuts. Make sure to give her a little sugar.

Rogue stiffened. “I’m not a hooker. I don’t have sex with my clients. Not all of them. What they want from me is something else. They want the illusion of intimacy, and I give them that.”

Gravel and Gravel: A Long Shot and Gravel: Potentiality by Macha--Oh, the angst! I love it so hard! Logan does the unthinkable--cheats on Rogue with Jean. So Marie does the one thing she can do, she runs away. And Logan follows. I love these stories so hard.

Body Check by Macha--Some nice h/c here. Logan inadvertently hurts Marie while training and tries to make himself stop feeling guilty.

Waiting by edanielrya--A fabulous first time that takes place after an incident reveals a secret Rogue's kept hidden from Wolverine.

"Jesus fuck, Marie!” he roars, slamming the door so hard it bounces back out of the frame. “Ten…” he trails off, doing the math, figuring out how many times he’s been home in that window. It’s three, by the way, and I see that knowledge cross his face, see him swallow it down like bile and chase it with a healthy portion of the first beer. He slams the bottle down on the counter, and it takes an effort not to jump at the noise. “What the fuck is that about? Ten goddamn months?”

In A Thousand Miles by jenn--Oh, this is a good one. Logan takes Marie away to a cabin, and Marie has to deal with her inferiority complex.

But the difference between seventeen and twenty-four was as obvious as the blood soaked into the leather on her hands and a touch on her skin from bare human fingers that she hadn't had in more years than she cared to remember. On the back of her neck, so brief her body didn't betray her for once and she'd turned in bed and taken his hand without comment when he pulled her up and out and on his little cross-country run that she'd shared only in his memories, never in his life.

Thirty Miles by katherine--Rogue goes back to Mississippi to see her parents, but runs into some problems on the way. Of course, it's Logan to the rescue.

When I finally broke down and called him, I was sitting in my piece-of-crap car on the side of the highway, crying. Well, crying isn't really the word for it. I was sobbing. Like a baby. Great big gulps of air, never-ending tears, and oh yes, lots of snot. Snot everywhere. I caught a glimpse of myself in the rear-view mirror and wow, not pretty.
