Hello, Polychromatic!

Consider this an addendum. As per some discussion on our previous post, we have decided to make a list outlining some of the pros and some of the cons relating to each game format along with an examination of the proposed optional "hybrid system." Thanks for compiling the lists, they're useful.

I just want to ask people to scroll down the comments in the other post before rethinking a vote, if they are. A community system is almost certainly more convenient. Poly's system takes a little more commitment (not necessarily a bad thing). But the ratio of responses from people who would really be unhappy to lose the journal based system for what boils down, I think, to something emotional and undefinable as well as a preference for style is far higher than the number of people who responded to say they'd be terribly unhappy at keeping the current system. So in that sense it's a decision between convenience and feelings, and it's hard to represent that with the statistics.

Secondly everyone here did choose to join a journal based game - some of us because it was journal based, some of us in spite of it. Preferring one style over the other is one thing, but the only way any of us will be playing in a format we did not explicitly choose to play in is if the format switches to com.

Though I'm sure whichever way it goes we'll all adjust. Personally, whichever format is picked I will use that system rather than the hybrid, but I think if it helps those who have said they really will be uncomfortable with the pure com style it would be nice if it's allowable.

And now I swear, I swear I'll shut up. Looking forward to seeing you on the flip side, Poly.
