What do you do when you have a structure that is beginning to break apart, that is no longer ethically or professionally sound?

You tear it down. The barriers are breaking. I know. I'm the one who designed them ( Read more... )

Do you mean home where we came from, or where our home really is?

Don't you want to get out of this place?

I want to be with my family. I want to be with Arthur and Merlin.

Go. Go now. Go before it's too late. Go. The animals are preparing the way. Go!

What's the price?

Do you think I'd charge a toll?

Go. Go on.

Are you advocating the destruction of your work?

And exactly what happens to the Citizens once the walls of this reality break down?

I didn't start it. Maybe I'm finishing it, but I didn't start it.

Take a peek. Go on, go on.

Mm. So do you lay claim to only the framework, or are you responsible for the entire system: curses, kidnapping the Citizens from their homes, the lot? Am I really meant to believe that you've had a sudden change of heart and you're sending everyone home?

Oh come now, that's almost textbook suspicious! Surely you could be subtler than that!

Go. Now. Before it's too late. You have a chance. Don't waste it arguing semantics and offices with me.

Go.

You mean to say, sir, that you created the walls, or whatever they are, that keep us here? And now you wish to tear them down? And we are simply free to leave, to return to our homes and continue our lives?

Forgive me for seeming suspicious, but nothing in this place has ever come without some sort of price or trick involved. If you are truly magnanimous in your intent, then I thank you. If, however, you have some sort of new trick planned for the denizens of this city, you may find many irate people at your doorstep in very short order.

I am different. I, as designer, reserve the right to destroy that which I have created.

Besides, the Fearless Five screwed it up enough that there's nothing left for it.

You are different? In what way? Those who have brought us here call themselves "deities". What you claim as your right is what the Lord did when he first created Mankind. He destroyed it when he was unsatisfied with it, and built it anew. You set yourself up as a "deity" the same as those who kept us within your walls.

And now, it has come to such ruin that you decide to allow us to leave? Again, playing "deity" by determining our actions. What guarantee do we have that you will not simply pluck us back once we have gone home, as the "Fearless Five" have done before?

Go. Go now. You have a chance to return to your world. Go now. Now! Before it's too late. Before they decide to try to stop me. Go. Go now!

Don't waste your time and your breath arguing with me. Shut up and run. For your own sake. For the sake of your world. Go!

The animals are loose. The animals are preparing the way. Go now.

Is that what you're promising? The chance to go home?

Isn't that what's showing through the holes? Even the animals have caught on that much.

I know what I see. But that doesn't mean it's home.

I should have known no one would believe me.

The Fearless Five strike again.
