Y HALO THAR, 2008!POLYchro. First activity check up o' this year, and unfortunately the messiest. I know a number of you have had to call a hiatus because of finals / holidays / etc, but unfortunately a good few only made a mention in poly_extra, and not the HIATUS post. The only reason I keep nagging you lot with doing that is because then I have a strict ( Read more... )

I believe that princeofknaves and m1a1_love are on hiatus. I remember first_of_april being on hiatus, too, but that may have been more than a month ago, I can't remember.

As for people complaining about people only doing the minimum... isn't that what minimums are for? Unless you want to up the minimum, I don't really see the point of the problem, especially since the people who don't post a lot usually comment way more. I mean... I just think that unless it slows down a plot/the flow of the game, it's not really a problem if people only post the minimum, it just seems likeit gets on people's nerves, which is annoying, I understand, but I don't see the point in changing the layout of the game for it.

first_of_april was on a declared hiatus last month - MIA for this one, alas. Thanks for the other two, marking ~ !

Hmmm, well - the general complaint was more along the lines of, "these people only post the minimum and never comment either within their own posts or outside of them ----> slows down the crew." I can personally definitely sympathize - it's... hard to work around a character's inactivity when, if present in game, their input would be crucial to your own char. At the same time, tho, there're the exact (perfectly valid) observations that you made. ._.b

No prob ♥ I think converts might've been on hiatus, too, but I can't remember exactly 8D? [/useless]

Aah, okay, I get where you're coming from. I'd suggest maybe system like "post 3 times a month or two times a month and X # of comments" but that sounds like it'd be a pain to enforce?

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah, monitoring comments is... definitely... problematic, at best. ._. Then you end up with issues like, " Should all comments be weighed equally?" Because some will say, "Sure, there were # comments, but they were mostly spam / crack / not crew related in the least, and we kind of NEEDED the comments, so those shouldn't cound >( " And the opposing side will just say, "Well, what, are you going to tell me what to RP hereon? " And a third party will just throw a merry, "It's a multifandom RP, why do people even have to be so crew reliant?! " in.

...um. Yeah. I'm so good with the entire decision making, I know. ._.

Then I'd suggest upping the minimum, which I'd really actually rather you not do, just me personally... maybe instead of 2 posts/month, you could try 1 post/2 weeks? Maybe that'd speed the crews up without actually upping the needed amount?

A for effort? Have a computer cake?

Yes, that's definitely an idea. Would pose some problems in terms of enforcement, as the inactivity list is, in short, a monster - and it'd probably demand new hiatus guidelines too... but it is an idea, and definitely worth taking into account.

O la la !

I hope you come up with something satisfying? I still don't think the problem is big enough to warrant a major change, but if you do, good luck fixing it :3 it's really great that the mods are taking so much imput into account ♥
