Horatio sat at the hotel bar wondering if he was too old to be doing what he had planned to do on this impromptu vacation. He took a sip from his beer as he silently told the rational part of his brain to shut up. He listened to the Hawaiian music while he waited. Vowing that whatever happened he would relax and enjoy himself.
Steve walked into the bar and spotted his redheaded lover right away. He had to smile at Horatio's nervous finger tapping and decided to take pity on the older man.
"Aloha, Horatio," he quietly said in Horatio's ear.
Horatio jumped and grumbled, "Damn ninja."
Steve quietly chuckles. "I learned from the best," he retorted as he settled on the stool next to Horatio.
Waving the bartender over, Horatio looked at Steve and said, "Beer?" At Steve's nod, the bartender walked off to pour another glass.
"I was surprised to get your call that you were coming today," Steve commented looking over at the red head.
"When I was forced to take some time off, I decided to come."
"So how long do I have you for?"
"Two weeks," Horatio answered with what he hoped was a warm smile.
