Yaoi Yuri Con 2 & wuxia

Since I read Deceiving Clouds, Cunning Wave (in July 2011) by "the_assassin" aka "lilith_lucifer", I've been falling deeper and deeper into chinese BL.
In particular the wuxia genre has everything I want : it's exotic, it has plenty of splendid men with long hair and ample clothing, it has mystery, murder and power struggles. It has historic references and epic fight scenes.

My passion for Asia was born when I was a small child and living in Cameroon. There were a lot of HK and India movies on tv and I was lucky to have chinese neighbours. The first time they invited my sister and I to visit their place, I was in awe. I think it's my first aethetical shock ever (I was around 3). The blue and white intricate china, the red tapestries with golden threads, the heavy wood smelling like nothing else before... I remember it all. So well before I started to get interested in japanese media culture (jrock, manga and so on), I was very interested in the traditional side of China.

So here I am now, about to buy original manhua (taiwanese rocks), reading fantranslation of Feng Yu Jiu Tian and Hua Hua Dou Long and programming chinese shonen-ai animation for the French Yaoi Yuri Con. It's happening on October 27-28 and I am part excited, part exhausted as I had my nose in almost everything : Guests, Screenings, Video-games, Activities, Communication....
It's defintely lucky I had to quit my job last june (they wanted me to work as a normal employee on my end-of-contract indemnity as an absolute condition for me to have another contract. I tried to submit and I failed at being a slave)...

I thought I would be more panicked to find myself without a job, a master course (without a cause haha) but I'm doing fairly well so far. Granted, I haven't send out much CVs and cover letters so far so my spirit is not down yet, crashed by all the refusal letters (sent one, got refused 3 weeks later based on my inexperience. I have 3 years of "professional" experience in organizing events at least once a week and festivals twice a year.... Double these years as my "amateur" experience :sigh:).
I have started a Tumblr about my speciality which is indie japanese animation but with the craziness around the YYCON, I couldn't update it much. I hope I'll be able to manage it properly as it will keep me focused on what I really want to do my life :)
