War Day Percussion

Apr 24, 2008 19:53

So, as some of you who follow the plot calender quite closely, you might notice that this Saturday, there's the Shell Shocked curse. And I quote:

"26; Shell Shocked
Soldiers take up your arms! Citizens affected by this curse will be transported to the mindset of a weary and worn fighter on the brink of yet another battle in a neverending war. For some citizens this will be a new experience in the shoes of another, for other citizens this will only recall painful memories. All sides of the trenches are fair game; there are no winners in war. [There will be no environmental change, however characters can still bear arms if they have the means to do it. Characters killed because of the curse will wake up completely alive the next day.]"

...What, you didn't think the Major wouldn't do something for this, did you?

I prefer this with the following boldface:

THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND MOD APPROVED.

That's right, not forced on anyone. What's he doing, you may ask?

Well, he's going to unload a scattershot barrage of missiles from the Deus ex Machina II at the City. Highly modified V-2 rockets, most specifically. Now, these won't be aimed at anything, just a general scattershot.

What does this mean for you?

Well, it means that if you want, your character (cursed or not) can be hit by a rocket, be near a rocket strike, just hear all the explosions and wonder wtf, etc etc etc. But since it's a scattershot, if you don't want to deal? You don't have to. You happened to be in one of the lucky areas where no missiles were shot.

By Mod dictum, the damage caused is as follows:

the damages from these rockets are not to exceed the destruction of a 1-Bedroom apartment, roughly.

By the same token, though, since hitting a building would affect everyone, please try not do that and mod everyone's day like that.

So, to summarize:

This Saturday, Major will fire missiles at the City in a scattershot. If you want them to land around you and mess up your stuff? They can. If you don't? They don't. Please don't let the buildings get hit, because it would affect everyone in the building.

I'll put another post on tl;dr the day of with the exact time, as well as Major making a post IG ordering the firing.

Any questions?

ETA:

By request, I'm putting up an exact time of 4:00 in the afternoon EST, although I'd prefer it if you wait until I put the post up.
