No, no, it totally makes sense! It is a truly difficult balancing act, especially as he continues to lose the people who are really important to him, like his father figures. But it does work, somehow. He's probably one of the few people who really would be able to use the resurrection stone the way he did -- to steady himself rather than to chase what he can't have anymore. It's really lovely.

Also I'm kinda thrilled to hear you say that. That scene was actually the first scene in DH that made me cry. I was so mad at myself when I went to see the movie and ended up in the bathroom during it. It's just so striking.
