Three Things
* Attended Spitfest 11 on Saturday, went overtime in the final round, bumping me from 1st to 2nd (and costing me $225 in prize money in the process). The highlight of the night, though, was talking Dream Teams with Rob C. We pontificated on who, ideally, would constitute the Austin Slam Team this year.
* Then watched UT lose their basketball game, badly, on Sunday. Thought about my ambivalence toward sport. On the one hand, it's a complete waste of time and energy. On the other hand, sports tell a story that can't be told anywhere else in our culture.
* My writing skills are off-track. Everything I scribble down comes out shit. So I'm looking for your help. Please leave a word (or short phrase) in the comments section. I'll take the first 6-10 of them and use them in a poem. I need a kick-start.
