WOW......what a week
This has been one incredible week. My daughter has arrived, 3 weeks early, but healthy and mostly happy. She tipped the scales at 7lbs, 12 oz. She has a full head of hair, and 10 fingers and 10 toes.
She arrived kicking and screaming at 7:15 am on Tuesday, February 15th. Almost on Valentines Day.....missed it by THAT much.......
Now that she is home, our lives can start to reach some semblance of order. We have been waiting with bated breath for this day. And she is here !!!!
The emotions that run thru you are indescribable, unless you have children of your own....then you know EXACTLY what i feel. Absolute JOY that she is here....abject TERROR at the thought of all the BAD things that could go wrong over the course of the next 18 years. I know if I do my job right, I will have a pretty good kid that will hopefully make the right choices in life. I think we did pretty good with the first one, and I hope to continue the trend with this one too. There have been sooooo many people in our lives that have helped us raise Ricky ......you guys up to another round??? I'm gonna need the help, especially since this one is a girl. I have NO flipping idea what to do....right now, i know when she cries, there is something specific wrong. She has a dirty diaper, needs fueling, or just wants to be held...... couple of years from now, i won't be so sure.....guess i will have to play it by ear. If you see me screwing it up, feel free to smack me around a bit.....
Right now, she is in her crib, sleeping.....i have the baby monitor on, and i can hear the little sounds she makes while sleeping.......that is soooo incredible as to be indescribable.
