So whats going on in my life you might ask? Well let me tell you….yesterday at about 4PM, I was involved in an accident.
A 1983 Chevy truck a.k.a. Chevy tank was trying to make a left turn right in front of me and I hit her. She got the ticket for failing to yield the right of way which I had, but my car is probably totaled. My hood is bent up on the passenger side even though the collision was mainly in the middle to driver side. My license plate and lights were completely detached from my car, the driver side light was kind of by my license plate, and there was a whole bunch of stuff under my car. We were both thankfully wearing seatbelts, and we both have insurance (which makes everything a crap-load easier). I’m sore, and still shaken up. It was raining and I stood out in the rain for about an hour. Since my airbags deployed they had to call EMS, so an ambulance came and checked us both out. She was fine (of course, she was in a tank!), and all that really happened to my was the airbag hit my left pinky finger, so they iced that, got all my info, and asked me three times if I wanted to go to the hospital. After I told them no three times, they told me I was probably going to be sore (which I already am), and then had me sign a refusal of service paper deal. I had called mi casa right after the officer showed up, so by the time all that had happened my dad was there. They called a tow truck since my bumper was torn off, and my front end was crunched in a little bit, so we got it out of the middle of the intersection (since that’s where the collision was, and my car wasn’t movable), the guy gave me his business card, and then we had to go to the police office to get paperwork done. So we went over there and the guy got all my information, gave me the other woman’s info, and told me what should happen. Basically if she pleads guilty, she’ll pay a fine and things will be done, if she contests the ticket or pleads not guilty, I’ll get a court summons and have to testify (which would NOT be cool since she pulled out in front of me), but yeah at least I didn’t get a ticket, and nobody’s hurt…too bad. So I got home after standing out in the rain for about an hour, explained what happened with many, many unoffensive hand movements to help get my point home, and then changed into warm, comfy, pajamas, made some warm tea, and didn’t do anything. I apologize if I scared you, but honestly…it was pretty scary. I spent the first 15 minutes after the accident crying. But I am ok.
Sadly, this means I wont be making a trip to Abilene this weekend. I know its homecoming and SING weekend, and I said I would be up there, but with recent event…I don’t think so. 1) I don’t have my car, 2) I need to make all the arrangements for my car, and deal with all the insurance crap, 3) I honestly don’t think I should be making that kind of a trip by myself after an accident, and 4) My parentals don’t want me making that trip by myself regardless of my current state, let alone after an accident. I will be up there sometime before the end of the semester. I want to go to Oplin, and Stairs, and I really just want to see all my friends and hang out with everyone again. As soon as I can I will be up there. But I’m going to go eat and then to youth. Yay for distractions and defense mechanisms!!! Woohoo!!!
So I guess that’s it. Sorry its so long, but I think I’ve had longer, and the lj cut should help. At least my sense of humor and sarcasm are back. That’s a plus! So yes…I’m Gone. Kbye.
Much love
