I was trawling through the graveyard of dead LJ comms this evening and ran across one of my old accounts in one of three comments on an Asylum Army post. That account only ever had one entry:
http://grrldandy.livejournal.com Check out the Amanda Palmer Eyebrows and the Emilie Autumn heart. I was devoted to both of them. I have to admit that part of my primary reason for returning to LJ was the screenshots of EA's old
BonnyTymePyrate journal I've found on the WayBack Machine, and the hope that I could dig up more Enchant-Era EA gems. Alas,
BonnyTymePyrate,
Alter anywhere to be seen, and all of the pictures on
WillowTechHouse are gone. I sigh in frustration yet again. When will I find the drug that will finally satisfy my techno-nostalgia?
I'm considering starting my own community, specifically for alt kiddies of various types to reminisce about their favourite artists and eras and whatnot. I know that at least
olenystava would be into it. Two people is enough to be a community, right? Still need to think of a name for it though.
I've also been re-thinking my username. I'd like to have a handle, and although Polly Needles is a great name, it doesn't feel like my name. It's an alias, one of many, but it doesn't represent the collection of aliases that I am. Perhaps I should have gone with my usual handle, NobodyJones, but I'm not sure how many other place I've used that and if it would be connected to this LJ. Although, having everything set to Friends Only gives me some peace of mine and privacy.
Am I the only one who enjoys manually typing out the html for doing bold and italics? Must be that craving for Ye Goode Olde Days at work. The internet is so easy these days, and though I don't think I would have been capable of figuring it out back when it was complicated I want to understand the coding behind the scenes anyway.
BTW, if anyone knows how to tag users or comms in posts, I'd be grateful if you could explain it to me. Found the answers in
l_j_for_dummies, huzzah! I'm also searching for cool layouts, and maybe some Enchant-era Emilie Autumn icons for bonus points.
Ciao for now,
Nobody
