Energy

Our consumption is going down!  It's still not great, and we didn't do so well last (very hot) month on the electric, but all the little things ARE making a difference!  The numbers at the far left are the month, ie. 6 = June.

For those unacquainted with our lovely home, it is 100+ years old, brick, very much in need of new insulation, and 2,600 sf.  We have hot water radiator (oil) heat throughout the house, and we have central air on the 2nd floor only.  On the first floor we have one stupid window unit.
Over the past few years we have been trying to cool this sucker down in the summer and warm it up in the winter, for less money.  This has included thermal blinds/curtains on lots of windows, sealing said windows, installing programmable thermostats, and unplugging appliances, as well as putting in a rain barrel (soon we will have 2) to collect water for the gardens.
