Life

So life is pretty good...
It's much easier living in Adelaide.
I've been enjoying the Tafe teaching (really low stress compared to teaching at ultimo tafe and Sydney uni). I have been surprised by how um, challenged, some of the vet nurses obviously are by learning. But refreshed by one of the teachers using the "dumb" term. I've delighted n those who are obviously smart and keen, and want to give them all jobs and references, but cannot.
I've got a meet and greet lined up at Adelaide uni where I'm going to try to get the ball rolling on research (yup good luck there, but still)
I chopped up three koalas. Koalas are common here.
I've got lots of baby sitting support and can reciprocate.
Ben likes his childcare.
We are not sick.
Ben is generally lovely and funny and cute and smart (but not too smart) and loves books and animals.
Simon seems ok with his job.
Neither of us do much of our hobbies anymore but we are seeing each other a lot more.
Tafe teaching dries up after next week so then I need to seek more work. I do need to keep in practise and don't know if the best way is a Saturday job or intermittent locums. Prob with sole charge is no one to learn things from/keep you up to date, which is the whole point of being there.
Vet jobs much much harder with a child due to late and irregular finishes. Haven't figured that one out.

My nephew is currently well, although a new tumour has appeared in his spine. They are still doing chemo (intrathecally) though it is palliative only. They are on the gold coast with make a wish foundation. My sister's pregnancy is going well.

I got paid today which is awesome given I just bought a croozer double buggy on eBay for $360. And I want to get to Canberra and Melbourne and Sydney and NZ soonish....

This morning I'm not on duty so I'm here blogging in bed with tea, listening to Simon and Ben in the other room.
