James Franco is involved with some awesome projects. I'm not ready to say he's an awesome actor yet though. But he must be a pretty awesome person.
Also, I heart Daniel Craig. Those haunted eyes! They just get me. [EDIT: Or rather, as Holden would say, they kill me.] And the Coen brothers doing True Grit FOR REALZ THIS TIME NOT WITH A GROWN BLOODY WOMAN AND JOHN STUPID WAYNE
...well. That's just peachy! Yes, I'm a bit passionate about this. I loved the book and then I found out that there was a film version of it with John Wayne and the little girl was played by a woman and there was romantic tension involved--ew. I'm excited about a movie with a kid in it. Grown up movies about kids are great! Like some notable Miyazaki movies, and La Cité des Enfants Perdus (The City of Lost Children) and, um, others I can't think of right now. "Grown up" as in, not just enjoyable for grown ups, but set in a grown up world. Spirited Away is full of mostly adult characters (many of whom act like children...) and so is La Cité des Enfants Perdus. But Chihiro and Miette are the resourceful, independent ones!
This is also why I like the manga Loveless. And YA books.
