i don't remember blocking anyone here, but i don't really post here anymore except in a couple of groups and respond to one person i follow. so, people don't really interact with me much outside of those limitted scopes. i share memes and comment more on MeWe and Facebook, and i regularly block people on those. i only follow/friend people i know or strangers who pass a quick preview...nothing obviously morally noxious to me and no blatant sexual come-ons, which includes selfie addicts, and people who i'm pretty sure are fake identities and probably dishonest. if they don't pass, i block them because i don't want them to keep bothering me. i also block or mute, depending if they attack me directly or just believe things i find disgusting and can't or won't hold an intelligent conversation about it. oh, and i block people who hit on me, especially since i've put "not interested" in most of my profiles. that's disrespectful. and one more...i do block people within interests groups if they consistently don't stick to the theme and

Yes, I get what you're saying about the images of cruelty to animals and suchlike. I find that on Facebook they're very often posted by people who are vegan or strongly opposed to cruelty to animals. I've been vegetarian-verging-on-vegan for two-thirds of my life, but I don't want to see images of injured or butchered animals, and if I don't want to see them, I'm certain that most people who eat meat or consider animals to be lesser beings will simply scroll past or even delete and block the poster. So I feel that posting images like those is at best pointless, and is likely to be counter-productive
