Dear Yuletide Writer,
Thank you for taking this on! It has been a few years since I last participated in Yuletide and I am looking forward to the experience. Anything you write for me--really, ANYTHING--is going to fill me with so much fangirl glee, even capslock will be insufficient to express it all.
Why?
Because you will have chosen to write for a rare (or even nonexistent!) fandom which I love very much, but lack fellow fangirls and/or -boys.
If you are writing for 20th Century Boys: I love Otcho. More than you can imagine. Probably more than is healthy. And I love the potential of Kanna, though I feel like she was maybe neglected by the artist, as far as dimension goes. Friend scares the hell out of me--which is a great thing! Anything about Friend--anything introspective and twisted, anything external about him moving inconspicuously through his daily life--I'll love any of it.
If you are writing for Invisible Cities: You will have my undying affection. Whatever you write will be dazzling, just because it will let me know that someone out there loves this book as much as I do. From the canon, I love the idea of Marco Polo as this very disconnected observer, as much a scientist, really, as he is an explorer. And Calvino's cities chill me to the bone, particularly any of the Cities of the Dead.
And if you are writing for Feminist Hulk: What can I say? This is my favorite meme of the year. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Again, thank you. I really look forward to seeing what you write. I hope you have a wonderful Yuletide, both as a writer and as a recipient.
♥,
Pollinia
