new here, emotional eating/cravings

though i haven't considered myself 'eating disordered' for a few years now, i have recurring cravings for steak. it's not protein, i don't think, because beans/lentils/eggs don't help. about once a month i get a jaw-clenching unbearable desire for a slab of meat.

background: was raw vegan for one year, strictly vegetarian for 5, and have been experimenting with flesh for the past four. i have no concept of the standard american diet and am psychologically incapable at the moment of sticking to any strict doctrine. what i'm looking for is anything that approximates the chewy, savoury experience of a steak, without guilt. an excellent way to prepare tempeh? give it up, please!

questions: cooking
