Oh man, the trip to David's on Thanksgiving.

OK, so the day before Thanksgiving David told me that he wanted to see me again before the end of the break and I told him that I didn't have the time. Mama called me and told me that I didn't have to go to Swainesboro until friday so I called David and told him that I could come on thursday after I left Granny Kaye's if he wanted me to. He said that he wanted me to come and I told him that I would call when I was on my way.

After I took Trey home, I called David and told him that Yuko and I were on our way and that I would call him when I got to Pollard's Corner. So I did and he had just woken up. He began to give me directions and his mom took the phone and said that she didn't trust David to give me directions when he had just woken up. I said OK and she started to tell me the directions. "Turn right at the end of the road and then left at the FIRST light, the only light on the entire road and go about three miles until you see the deer statue. When you see it, it looks like you're gonna hit a deer. Then turn right on the next road and then left at the water tower and we're the first house on the left." I repeated them back to her and she assured me that they were correct. So I did as I was told and turned at the first and "only" light on the road. About three miles down the road I began to look for a deer statue. I look to my left and there it is. The deer statue. She was right, it did look like I was going to hit a deer. Yuko and I both commented on how realistic it was. Then, OMG it's moving!! She didn't tell us that it moved! OMG it's a REAL deer!!!!! I slowed down just in time to avoid hitting it. I went a little further down the road and then we called David. "I think we're lost. We were supposed to turn at the first light, right?" David said "It should be the second light." "OK, so your mom definitely said the first light." So we turned around and went to the second light and finally made it to the real deer statue that was definitely a statue, then to the water tower and finally to David's house seeing deer all along the way. When we got there, we told them the whole story and everyone laughed. His mom apologized and I told her that it was fine.

Wasn't that a crazy story? What were the chances of that happening to anyone else? It was scary when it happened, but it's a great story now that it's over!
