Londinium

Aug 22, 2011 23:54

It occurs to me that posting things when you say you will and promptly forgetting for 48 hours is not the done thing. Sorry.

I graced London with my presence on Friday for a conference thing. Naturally to get my train cheap I spent much longer than needed in the city. However the time was split in two and not enough for any sightseeing opportunities. Except. I leave London on the east coast mainline. From Kings Cross.

So naturally I visited 9 3/4. Except that 9, 10 and 11 are closed off to ticket holders only and hidden behind barriers, so the train folk have moved the tribute stuff OUTSIDE. And quite frankly it is completely unconvincing. Photo.

Rubbish. It was also me and like 20 Chinese tourists giggling. Decidedly uncool. Also uncool was my one celebrity spot in London. I walked past Lee from Blue (link to wiki for the nonUK folk) on Leicester Square after my Bella Italia meal. Also, entirely different from film premières, the entire centre of the square is boarded up "preparing for 2012" I don't even live in London and I'm already annoyed at the Olympics.

Change of topic

Much more cool is the trailer for a film I saw at the cinema tonight. Fright Night starring Checkov from Star Trek and ex-Doctor Who (10). I haven't decided whether to call him the hoctor (hot doctor) or Doctor Hot yet. Photo.

Yes, that is the fatal eyeliner and leather lace-up trousers combo. Guh. He's about to become my phone screensaver so I can drool at work or whenever. Some say he's a cross of Russell Brand and Captain Jack (Sparrow, not Harkness), I see it, but don't really care. Oh dear, must be bunk time.

Other news, I've bought a new ring for righthand ring finger, I'll photo once here, to try and offset the phantom ring thing. Also, think this mystery dream boyfriendman is called Jack. I'll let you figure out why that's crazy/insane for
yourselves.

I leave you with two of my favourite things to look at while you figure out the boyfriendman.
