So Linus' zipper is broken, and we could not do our last show. What a gosh darn shame. A happy birthday to M. McGonagall. And OMG MY BOSS IS INSANE.
So she called on Thursday to say "Hey, I need you to learn the singer's part for the first show Saturday." I say, "Okay fine." She sends me the MP3 and the script via email -- but this is where it gets VERY good. The script was sent to me as ten different attachments in MS PAINT. WTF. And not only that, but it was such a large image that when I printed it, it printed four pages with a little bit in one corner of each. And it was too large for me to just select the words and make the image smaller. So I retyped (since copy and paste was not an option) all my new lines and got to work learning it. I succeeded. Woohoo! BUT. On Friday night, I get a text message from my supervisor: B is going to sing, I need you to do a character. What? Okay, I don't mind. But I then find out later, talking to B that my boss called B on Thursday to tell her to learn the lines for the first show. WTF FOR REAL? As if that wasn't enough, I have now been charged with learning the lines for the OTHER show overnight. And it's not Coworker K's fault, either, though she is the one that is being covered for. It is the boss. Coworker K forewarned everyone LAST WEEK that SATs and a funeral were going to keep her from work. OMG incompetent bosses. The whole scenario is so ridiculous I'm not even angry. Just bewildered.
