Two rather interesting things happened today.
Hanging out in the commons, innocently minding their own business, were four students. L was on the phone, while JJ, S, and I were talking. In walks the Asst. principal. She asks what we're doing in there. We explain about Threepenny. She does not care, as Hersh and DCM are not there anymore. So she says we cannot stay. (Keep in mind it is about 28 degrees F. outside.) So JJ and S are picked up by their parents as this occurs, and L and I are left outside, in the cold, on the hard stone, trying to read without freezing our asses off, literally. As the nearest place to loiter hang out is about a mile away. So after we are out there for about ten minutes, Asst. principal decides she isn't that evil (surprise) and lets us in if we swear not to move from the lobby or let anyone in. (As if we'd let anyone freeze outside!) And L and I could not feel our bums for HOURS. Seriously.
T is the Stage Manager, AC is one of the actors...and a troublesome person to work with indeed. After tonight's show, the following occured:
T: Why is there an empty chocolate milk? Who was drinking chocolate milk?
Me: *takes empty bottle and a water bottle to recycling can*
AC: Oh, I was just about to clean those up.
T: Yours? Why were you drinking chocolate milk in the dressing room? Were you in costume?
AC: I wasn't drinking it in here. I drank it outside and just brought it in.
Me: Wait, why would you drink it outside and bring it all the way over here when the can is right next to the door that you entered through?
AC: It's called absentmindedness...you should know! *stalks off*
Me: *blink* Huh? Was that...insulting? *shakes head and picks up a glove*
Oh, and said actor also ran over D's foot and ran over the hem of the ASM's skirt while she was moving something on stage, causing her to seriously moon the audience. If you can believe that. Add him running over my foot and nearly catapulting D off stage a few nights ago, coupled with the frightening threats of eating our souls and killing us in the dark of the night...he is a rather inconvinient and unnerving person to have around a play. ....Or anywhere.
And it's my sister's B-day, so Happy Birthday, Liz! School tomorrow. Leaving at quarter to eleven in the morning. Will probably return home about twelve hours later. What a life. But I wouldn't trade it; ya'll should know that by now. Theatre = LOVE.
