Exactly twelve hours ago, I went to sleep.
Oh, and...SPOILERS UPNDER THE CUT.
Josh's hair looked good dyed with orange! We were both decked out in our R/Hr best, and we already picked up the tickets. I remembered the queue (you know, the one that forms in front of the theatre, while they refuse to let people in, etc.), so we got there before 10 pm... But our theatre WAS open. So we waltz right in and claimed our seats. Good seats.
Now, the actual move. Woah. Um. It was like a Romantic Comedy fan fiction. I...I guess I liked it, but....it was missing so much STUFF. And it added so much STUFF. I don't mind the additions so much, but literally, Lupin says about one line, Neville's a waiter for Slughorn, the Trio sees a DE convention in Borgin and Burkes.... Basically, the suspense and mystery was cut for the sake of time.
And then, there was movie!hermione. I might travel back to MACK for this movie. In one scene, her hair was a poof, and I loved it. And honestly, she was a lot less Mary Sue than usual. But. BUT. What the HELL was with the last scene, in which she and Harry and the chums and Ron's just sitting away from them, chilling out? And the confidence of their secret crushes? WHAT? I just....I was like...I don't know. It was weird. And the whole Dumbledore asking about H/Hr made me *facepalm*
Tons of memories were missing, lots of details, interesting scenes were rushed, and the beazor thing seemed SO weird, since they didn't show the part in class. And the ready surrender of the Advanced Potions Making book confused me. I liked Malfoy's character, though. And I wanted more Snape!! HE IS THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE, HE NEEDS MORE SCREEN TIME! It was literally at the point where he said, "I am the Half-Blood Prince." And I thought, "So what?" Not REALLY, of course, but as far as my investment in the movie... No one honestly cared who the Half Blood Prince was. AND WE NEVER SAW A SNAPE DADA CLASS. WFT, it's the ultimate Alan Rickman jip.
Um, some of the added stuff I thought was funny. It made me laugh, even though it wasn't true to the book. And (side note) it wsa sort of neat that you had to know the other movies well enough to recognise characters, because they just popped in and popped right back out again. Oh, other side note, I LOVED the beginning, before the title. Too bad the movie didn't follow the tone that was set by it. Anyway, the funny additions. Like the conversation about nice skin. And -- I fel like such a typical teenager.
R: "So, did you and Ginny do it?"
H: "What?"
R: "Get rid of the diary."
H: "Oh. Oh, yeah."
Bahahahahahahahahaha.
More on the movie later, I think, but I have an extensive to do list!
