It is usually used as a last resort, the whole Godwin's Law thing, but this picture is pretty appropriate. Just as Chamberlain used appeasement as a policy towards Hitler, Tony Blair seems to be placating Iran. At least that is what I'm perceiving.
well, what would you like britan to do? and world to do, infact? certenly, the us and britan are boged down, and over streched, betwen there commitments. its just about imposble to moblise any kind of responce, even if we wanted to, and lets be honste, if we invaded iran, we would proberbly screw it up just as bad as iraq.
if there are hostiltys, and in this case (of the sailors, not iran in genrel), i senserly hope there arnt, thay will be small, focused, and defently not an all out war.
Chamberlain looks unhappy, like he knows war is invitable, but he's desperately trying to buy some time for his weak country. PR nightmare! He should've smiled and shook hands enthusiastically, and maybe helped arm that nice dictator.
That's the way to do it. No problems later. Everybody's happy!

If you put you forces in the firing line you have to back them up. And he hasn't.
